YARN FOR "BOOT TOPPERS" AND A
WOODEN CROCHET HOOK (HOOK NOT USED FOR THIS PROJECT).

BOOT TOPPERS--
I used my legs as a guide.
Did my Tunisian stitches and finished the white by doing a half dbl. crochet around,
a bit tighter stitch.

MAKES A GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR THE BOOT WEARERS
IN YOUR FAMILY!

TUNISIAN CROCHET--

STARTING A HAND TOWEL.
I USED 30 stitches and Peaches and cream yarn (100% cotton).

HATS~ CROCHET AND LOOM KNIT COMBOS!
Yes, that's what I said.  Anyone else do this?
I thought it would be different to loom knit with crochet edges or
flowers attached.  I used left-over yarn pieces for
a "crazy" fun hat (shown in middle of photo).  A few of these
are all crochet.
I worked 10 months out of the year to create these
hats for Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.

52 Hats

Foam Head can be purchased @ craft stores.

So, If you want to create a "combo" design, try out
a Crochet and Loom project.  Let your imagination go "wild!"

SHOEBOXES--Packing for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child?
I write quite often about crocheting or making crafts for this ministry.  You can do it all year round, so you will have enough to pack several boxes or donate to a local Collection Center, which is usually a church in your area.  Boxes can also be mailed--please see their website.  These are ideas for wrapping a cardboard shoebox.  Take a map or travel brochure, open it up and fit it around the box.  Tape.  Lid needs to be wrapped separate (or let it plain).  My blog has ideas for what to make and also the link to website.  Maybe your group or club can do this project.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!  What is "IndependencE DAY?
On July 4, 1776 the 13 colonies declared their independence.  To be free from restrictions and to live their life in peace as they wished to.  But, we also need to realize that we need to be "dependent" on the one who "set us free" spiritually.  Our God.  Our greatest strength comes from being dependent on Him.  Our forefathers recognized this.  I urge you today to study History and compare it to what is happening today.  Those who think they are fighting for their freedoms, may actually be "giving them away."  Probably, without realizing it!  So, instead of listening to the medias and politicians babble, do your own research and ask God to guide you in your decisions.  Have a great Holiday!

CROCHET ON EDGE OF HAT AND CROCHET FLOWER SEWN ON TOP OF BLUE HAT.
Sometimes crochet can be used on part of a project.  These hats were loom knitted.  The edge on the bottom is a loose crochet with a med. hook.  Blue hat has a flower I made with crochet and sewn  on with yarn needle.

Hello! Now that spring is here, I have been thinking about using those lighter colors of yarn.  If you view my last  post for  Tunisian crochet , you will see that I used colors associated with spring for my Infinity neck scarf.  I really enjoy this stitch, however, I started to get tennis elbow.  I had to take a break.  I am almost done with a red, white and blue one for the upcoming holidays.  I will post it soon.  My next post will be how I use loom knitted and crochet together.

#2 (folded over)

close-up of stitches (one side) , the other side looks "puffy."

LEG WARMERS--TUNISIAN CROCHET PROJECT  (PIC. 1)
CAST ON 24 STITCHES.  MAKE IT AS LONG AS YOUR LEGS ARE.  YOU WILL NEED 4 PANELS, AS SHOWN.
SEW 2 PANELS TOGETHER WITH A YARN NEEDLE.  I USED A MED. THICKNESS FOR THE YARN.  MAKE A LITLE WIDER THAN YOUR LEGS, SO YOU HAVE ROOM TO SEW TOGETHER.
(Pic. 2)
FINISHED LEG WARMER! (Pic. 3)

CROCHET NECKLACES-  EASY AND FUN!
Why not make some for your OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES?
YOU CAN DO A FOUNDATION ROW WITH A THICKER YARN.   IF USING A THINNER YARN, I WOULD TIE 2 COOLRS TOGETHER, OR DO 2 ROWS.   I CROCHET A ROUND OR FLOWER SHAPE AT THE END OF SOME OF THEM.  YOU CAN ADD BEADS, TOO.

A "yarn Quote" sent to me by my sister-in-law.
