Foundation row with skinny hook and yarn.  Make it long enough to wrap around your book, but not too loose (it will stretch!)

DISPLAY STAND~
Make yourself a display to show off your Crochet or jewelry crafts!  Take a square piece of cardboard, lay it out and cut it the shape you need for neck and shoulders.  If it's thin, you'll need to tape a thin piece of cardboard from top to bottom on the back.  This makes it stand up.  I have a candle in front to hold mine upright.

NECKLACE WITH CRYSTAL
Very thin crochet thread, a crystal (this one came from a broken light fixture my Grandfather bought for my Mother), skinniest hook there is!
Foundation row, as long as you want.  Hook crystal on the end (or attach a hook, if needed)

PRINCESS HEADBAND
Items needed; "Twine" eggshell color and blue.  Very thin, often used to string as  a "clothesline."  I found mine at a grocery store for $1.99 each.

1/2 dbl. croc.
Start with eggshell color- Foundation row, 4 more rows (approx. 12 in. long)
Hook on with the blue twine.  (Note: this blue twine has the feel of plastic, which makes it curl up for the top of headband)
Now croc. 4 stitches and hook on to next available loop (stitch), croc. 4 and hook onto next one, and so on. (normally you skip the stitch (loop) that is closest to your hook.  Do this here).  Take a piece of "elastic" that is 6 in. long and sew it onto both ends.

Half dbl croc
Loose stitches
  Crochet a Foundation row that is long enough to wrap around your neck and hangs
down to about your waist.
Hook ends together.
Crochet 1 more row the same stitches.
Switch to 2nd color (rust) and add 2 more rows, loose croc.
You can wrap it around your neck twice or knot it, as shown above.

THIS WAS MADE WITH A MULTI-COLORED YARN (2 DIFFERENT COLOR PATTERNS).  I DECIDED ON A WIDTH THAT SEEMED LONG ENOUGH TO WRAP AROUND SHOULDERS AND BEYOND.  FIRST COUPLE ROWS WERE SAME WIDTH.  I BEGAN MAKING ROWS A BIT MORE LOOSE OF A STITCH, AND ADDING ON A FEW EXTRA "TURNING CHAINS."  MORE LOOSE OF A SITCH AS I WENT ON , TO CREATE THE TRIANGLE SHAPE WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO REALLY WRAP AROUND.    I USED A Q HOOK AND HALF DBL CROC.
