MOTHER'S DAY GIFT--BRACELET
This is my "sample board."
Bracelet--
6.5 mm hook, thin yarn, pony beads.  If you want to make a "thicker" bracelet, make 2 or 3 of these & sew them together.  You are doing a Foundation row.  Crochet 2, add 2 pony beads(close to the hook), crochet 2, add 2 pony beads & keep doing this until you have enough to fit around the wrist.  Make it bigger, if you can't measure Mom's wrist for a size(maybe you can borrow another bracelet that she has to use as a guide!)

To hook it onto wrist, leave the "loop" at one end & a piece of yarn at the other to attach it.  You can also put an extra bead on one end to put the "loop" through it & wrap around to stay.
PLEASE SEE MY POST REGARDING WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT "MOTHERS!"
No matter what your situation this Mother's Day,  I pray that the Lord will touch each heart in a special way!

DIRECTIONS FOR FLOWERS (also see pictures on post named, Flowers-Flowers, Part 1)
I used thin yarn and a 5.00 mm hook.
Foundation row= 3 in. (small or inner piece for a 3 part flower petal)
This will be the "width" of the flower.  Three part flower petal as shown in blog; you'll need to make a small one, med. size (5 in. wide), and larger one (7-8 in. wide)  I tie ,or sew them together.

After Foundation row, hook onto the first loop (stitch) next to the knot, on the opposite side of row.
Single croc. 4 times and take that end and hook onto the next available stitch on the row. Connect onto existing stitch on hook, Croc. 4 and continue pattern around forming a circle shape.  Make 1 or 2 more rows like this.  You'll see the shape & puffiness of the petal.(I use a "marker"  where I started, so I know where to stop).

Please see all posts (11) on example and what to use them for.

FLOWER FOR VASE (I made outer section & filled in the center by sewing back & forth, with a yarn needle)  You attach a pipe cleaner or stem to put in vase.  You can also get leaves at a craft store.
The  yellow & purple ones are outer section crocheted only.  (See post on "Flowers," Part 1, 2, 3)

STEP 3 (Croc.2 & go around again)
STEP 4
Use a "marking ring" to know where you started.  You can add a few Croc. to add another row, & go around again.  This will make a fuller, puffy flower petal.

Crochet & Craft friends~ I am working on my flower designs & will be posting them in the near future.  Spring has Sprung, & I'm thinking, "Flower Power!"  Please check back again.  God Bless!
OCTOPUS YARN CRITTERS-lrg. & mini.
HOW TO:
Mini: Make a small ball of yarn in your hand (this is a good way to use little bits of leftover yarn!)  Tie it together to form a "head."  The face is a foam sticker, cut into small pieces & attached with sticky part.
Cut up long strands of yarn (all same length) so you have at least 3 pieces for each of the 8 legs.  Push the ends of the sets of strands into the yarn under the head, all around it.  Braid 3 together & secure with a twist tie (saved from bread/rolls) or whatever.  Do it all way around.  Use your imagination & create your very own octo critter!  (idea:  give one away to a sick person, nursing home guests, or put in your Operation Christmas Child boxes)
Large Octopus Critter:
Use a med-lrg ball of yarn for the head.  Yarn needle to stitch the face on.  Felt & a pom pom for the hat.
LEGS:  Make 8 Foundation rows using 2 color yarns tied together, and a 10mm hook.  Finished size is 10 in. long.  Push through yarn to attach & tie onto critter in  circle pattern,  all around the head.
Octo girl(either sew on face or glue felt strips on it)
